For production technicians

Run the SirReel LED wall from your own drive.

Bring your content on a drive, plug it into the wall’s computer and play it yourself — no uploads, no SirReel software to learn. This page is everything you need. Print it or keep it open on your phone at the console.

Prepare your files

  • Render at 2496 × 1536 — that is the wall, pixel for pixel. Other sizes are scaled to fill the wall, trimming the edges that don't fit.
  • H.264 MP4 is the safe choice. MOV, M4V and WebM play too, but a ProRes or HAP MOV will NOT play in the browser — export an H.264 copy.
  • Stills: JPG, PNG or WebP.
  • Number your files in running order ("01 Downtown", "02 Freeway", … "10 Coast"). The desk lists them that way, so Next and Previous follow your order.
  • Make loops seamless (no hard cut at the end) — a clip can loop all day.
  • A USB 3 drive formatted exFAT reads on the wall PC with no fuss. Bring a second copy on another drive.

Six steps

  1. Plug your drive into the wall PC

Your SirReel contact points you to the wall computer. The SirReel player is already running full screen on the LED output.

  2. Press D on the wall screen

Click once on the wall picture, then press D. The drive desk opens in its own window. Drag it to the operator monitor.

  3. Load your files

Choose a folder, choose files, or drag them onto the desk. Only files the wall can play are listed; hidden system files are skipped.

  4. Put it on the wall

Press "Put on wall" on any file. The wall switches to it. The desk shows a preview of what is up.

  5. Run the show

Play / pause, restart, previous / next, loop, sound and blackout are on the desk, with keys for each (below).

  6. Hand the wall back

When you wrap, press "Done? Hand the wall back to SirReel", then "Yes, hand it back". SirReel’s picture returns. Then unplug your drive.

Good to know
  • Nothing is uploaded or copied. The wall plays straight off your drive, and SirReel keeps nothing when you hand back.
  • Keep the drive plugged in until you hand back — the wall is reading from it.
  • Closing the desk window does not clear the wall. Your last picture stays up; press D on the wall screen to bring the desk back.
  • Sound plays through the wall PC only after someone has clicked the wall screen once. If the desk says to click it, click the wall picture.
  • While you have the wall, SirReel’s own content waits underneath, paused. Nobody at SirReel can change your picture until you hand back.
If something’s off
The desk says "Wall player not found".
The wall player must be open in the same Chrome on the same computer. Open the desk by pressing D on the wall screen rather than typing an address in another browser.
A file won’t play.
It’s almost always the codec. Export an H.264 MP4 and load that. ProRes, HAP and DNxHD files don’t play in the browser.
The picture is cropped.
The wall fills edge to edge, so a 16:9 file loses a little off the sides. Render at 2496 × 1536 for an exact fit.
The drive got unplugged.
Plug it back in, choose the folder again on the desk and put the file back on the wall.
Running Resolume, Disguise, Unreal or your own media server?
That connects to the wall’s processor rather than the wall PC. Talk to your SirReel rep before the shoot so it’s set up and tested.

Stuck on the day? Ask the SirReel staff on site. No technician on your crew? Upload your content before the shoot and a SirReel operator runs the wall for you.
